After graduating from James Madison University, followed by living in working in Grand Teton National Park, Matt moved to Eagle County, CO in the fall of 2008. Here in Eagle County he pursued a career in the hospitality business. During the 12 years following that move, Matt has spent time living in the communities of East Vail, West Vail, Intermountain, Eagle Vail, Avon, Edwards, and now Eagle. A familiar path for many of the hospitality professionals in this valley
Matt’s hospitality career culminated in the opportunity to serve as the Director of Event Operations at the Vail Marriott followed by the Director of Operations at the Lodge at Vail.
After leaving the hospitality industry in the summer of 2020, Matt successfully achieved Broker Dealer Agent and Investment Advisor Representative status after successfully passing the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s Securities Industry Essentials exam, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s Series 7 General Securities Representative exam, and the North American Securities Administrators Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law exam.
With the proper licenses and registrations in hand, Matt decided to embark on the journey to help both those he has worked side by side with in this valley for so very long and those whose paths have yet to be crossed by co-founding Brush Creek Financial Advisors, LLC. With a mission to provide individually designed, holistic financial planning and investment strategies, Matt’s goal is to help all those looking for assistance in achieving their financial goals and dreams.
Matt lives in Eagle, CO with his wife and two young children. They enjoy all things that make this place special including skiing, hiking, fishing, camping, the occasional trip to Denver, and, most importantly, the family and friendships built over their time in this beautiful valley.
